In the newspaper article "Nearly 100 people killed in Saudi-led aerial assault on Yemen," posted by Zaid Al-Alayaa and Laura King from the L.A. Times Newspaper, it states that airstrikes hit Yemen's capital on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. The airstrikes killed nearly 100 people and injured more than 270 others. These innocent people were injured and killed all because Saudi Arabia decided to hit a special forces base known as the Central Security camp in the capital, Sana, which was very close to populated civilian areas. Dozens of homes and other building were damaged during this attack as well. Residents said that the force of the explosions blew out the windows in a nearby hospital. The health ministry stated that at least 40 people died and the scores were also hurt in the strikes in Sana. Yemen is now extremely short of food, fuel, medicines, and crucial commodities. This Saudi-led assault on Yemen was believed to be the largest single-day death toll of the 2-month-old Saudi-led aerial offensive. http://www.latimes.com/world/middleeast/la-fg-yemen-fighting-20150527-story.html
The connection between this story and the theme of SPICE or the "four worlds" would be that the two both show social, politics, culture, and economics. For social(social structure) it shows the position of the attacker, Saudia Arabia, as well as Yemen, the Capital who was attacked. For politics(governing structure) it shows a military example by stating that Yemen was attacked with weapons and people were in fear of the situation. For culture(religion & belief systems) it shows the influence this may have had on some people who witnessed or heard about the situation. This attack may have influenced people that violence is OK. In my opinion, violence is not alright and should never be the answer to our problems. I believe the attack was wrong and most likely could have been handled in a much more peaceful manner. I selected this story because innocent people are dying for things that they may not have even been involved with and this is clearly an issue that should be confronted. This situation could have been improved by working it out a different way, it shouldn't have resorted in violence.
